Pragmatism and Religion

Pragmatism and Religion

1 comment:

  1. Dewey fails to vouchsafe the need for the term God whilst James makes no case for God, admitting he need Him-personally and for social cohesion. I read him out the pragmatic community for his fideism. His acccount of religious experience is still sound, but in the end all such experience is ones own mental states at work; to aver nevertheless, supernatural influence begs the question thereof.
Dewey pleads for the use of reason, for rational methods and for truth.
