Wishful thinking explains why he's a Christian

William James would have lauded that Christian for his finding his superstition lively, forced and momentous as he lauded wishful thinking in religion, whilst he himself wasn't much of a believer but felt religion necessary for social purposes
The author misattributes divine inspiration for his own inner resources at work: people can get inspiration form other sources.
Nothing makes any religion lively, force and momentous as all flaunt rationality. Reason tells us that naturalism is all that as it fits reality.
Atheist pragmatists would find James so wrong-headed. I find that he ill serves pragmatism.I find him no pragmatist but just another failed apologist for woo!
The author ignores the overwhelming evidence against his Scriptures as truthful. What could be so lively, forced and momentous in following men's imaginations as revelations? His misinterpretation of evidence for divine love bespeaks love of might makes right as the Deluge and Hell insult morality and - humanity! .
Blood sacrifice, whether such as the Aztec's and the Incas practiced is no worse in  principle than Yeshua's supposed  expiation for us
Why suppose that the whole notion of expiation for that unhistorical Fall, which even as a
  metaphor makes for a barbarity?
          .
